EXHIBITION DESIGN
For the past 12 years I was fortunate to work on fifteen exhibitions for Tim Burton. Each one though similar in subject, had very different challenges. Collaborating with hundreds of people all over the world and traveling to each site to personally install each show, I have acquired so much knowledge that only real life experience can give. My responsibilities during this time were extensive. From the very start I reviewed all elevations with Jenny He (the curator of the World of Tim Burton exhibit) and helped with problematic layouts. Often times each location had its own design team so I worked as art director to these teams to make sure that Tim’s vision was being upheld. Additionally, all color palettes, merchandise curation, locational and adverting signage was my responsibility to oversee and art direct. My pattern designs were highly used for decorations and merchandise for all the shows. All design of wall text and art labels (typesetting), graphics, marketing materials were at times designed by myself or required my review. These times were extremely busy but some of the most rewarding of my work with Tim Burton. Here is a selection of some of my favourites.
